Ever since the Occupy Wall Street movement began, I have wanted to visit and experience it. Not necessarily because they have a clear purpose, but because it is a great expression of the American way – the ability to peacefully assemble and express your opinion.
While police raised the Occupy Wall Street encampment tonight trying to clear them out, the Occupy Portland folks were organizing at Pioneer Square Park in downtown Portland by holding a general assembly. My estimate is that about 1,000 people were present.
