I decided to drive to San Francisco to ride my bike around town. On my way there, I saw the National Cemetery off to the right of the road. It was early morning and the lighting was terrific. I turned around and headed back to take some pix.
It was majestic and solemn.
The photo of the head stone immediately below is the one that I first walked up to for photos. I then noticed the date of his death. It was the day I was born.
CHILLS.

I am very proud of and moved by the many brave women and men who have given their lives on my behalf…and yours.

Abby and I saw a similar National Cemetery in South Dakota years ago, the sight of which she described as "sobering."
