First Journey to American Fork Canyon

This is the 1st of 2 pix that I tool from the exact same spot on the stream. I simply did a 180 and took the 2nd picture, which is below. They both came out nice. Yana and I drove to American Fork Canyon today. It was my first trip there. I didn’t realize it was a National Forest for the Uinta Mountains. It was BEAUTIFUL. My goal was to get at least one nice winter photo. I ended up with several nice pix.

A little side note is that while climbing on rocks to get a cool shot of ice formations found below, I dropped my new 10-20mm lens in the stream. Yep in the water. It was submerged for about 10 seconds. I am trying to let it air out and I am hoping it will be usable again. I give it a 1 in 5 chance.

This is the 2nd shot taken from the same spot on the stream. I like this one because of the warm reflect light off of the mountain in the background. This is the shot I was taking when I dropped one of my lenses into the stream.

I was so glad that Yana came with me. She is such an amazing lady. We had great convo on the drive and then she is also a fan of amazing scenery. I was surprise when she came out when I was shooting the stream and let me take some pix of her in the 14 degree weather. I really like the shots, but to be honest, I messed up on several of them and they are not shown here.

Yana is just such a joy and is so much wiser than her years.

Even though this one is a bit soft, I still love this photo. Even though this one is a bit soft, I still love this photo.
