I always get excited when there are celestial events that I know about. I love meteor showers, aligned planets, solar and lunar eclipses. I knew there were going to be tonight so I decided to stay up and take pix of it through the night.
I did not go anywhere special to do so. I literally took 3 steps out of my front door, set up the tripod and shot all of my pix right there. I used my 50-300 zoom. It is not a fancy lens but it can take some great pix.
The photo below is actually a compilation of many pictures I took that night. I think one photo with the eclipse transformation tells a better story that several individual shots.
I am proud of the result.
