I have been out of town all week. I normally go grocery shopping every day because I love fresh food. So today was the first time in five days that I have been to a grocery store.

All I can say is OH MY GOSH!
I could not believe what I saw at three different grocery stores – empty shelves all over the place. Most notably, no paper products or sanitizer products. However, there were many other shelves totally empty.
I visited Smith’s, Target and Harmon’s today. None of them had toilet paper or sanitizer. They all also had different things in which they were out of stock.
Target was the only one with eggs but did not have any soup. Smith had soup but no eggs. Harmon’s did not have oranges or bagged salad. Target had a lot of produce as did Smith’s. All three were low on meats, but none of them were out of meats. None of them had hot dog buns. Smith almost had no bread products at all. There had a few bags of hamburger buns.
The lines at the stores were actually ok, but I did go in the middle of work hours. I am sure if I went back tonight it might be a different story.
I can almost understand making a run on some of the food items and maybe even the sanitizer, but I do not understand why there is a run on TOILET PAPER of all things. Is it because people have the crap scared out of them (OK, stupid joke.) I would love to hear your thoughts on that.

I also do not understand why people would buy a 5-year supply of sanitizer. It is actually detrimental to the overall health of our communities when only a few people have a lot of it. The truth is if we think it is helpful, then we would want EVERYONE to have some.
We cannot stop an epidemic by safeguarding only a few people. Everyone needs to be safe.
For the record, I picked up a pack of chicken, two frozen pizzas, 5 Sumo Citrus, 2 bags of chips, some ravioli and 3 jars of amazing pasta sauce. Speaking of sauce, Harmon’s was almost totally wiped out of pasta sauce. That was a bit of a surprise.
Below are all the pix I took while shopping.
Let me encourage you to be safe, kind and considerate during this time. Don’t be stupid with your health, the health of others or with grocery shopping greed.
We got this.
