A Sunday Morning Escape

I woke up early this morning and had the brilliant idea to go take a drive into Provo Canyon and up the Alpine Loop past Sundance Resort. I wanted to do something to escape the unfortunate Coronavirus circumstances in which we find ourselves.

Pools from the Provo River

I needed a creative booster shot.

I had no idea as I was driving into the canyon, that I would be presented with so many cool things to photograph this early morning. I came across water, birds, mountains, ski slopes, waterfalls, hikers, a couple taking engagement photos and many, many amazing vistas.

I am going to share the pix I took in like groups. The first group is going to be mountain-scape photos.

The next group of pix are of a large rafter of turkeys. I found them crossing back and forth across the Alpine Loop up past Sundance. They did not mind me too much until I tried to get too close. Then they carefully went deep into the thicket.

There’s a turkey in the thicket

This next group of photos are BY FAR the strangest and definitely most unanticipated of the morning.

As I was about done for the morning, I was driving down from squaw peak and saw this beautiful woman in a white translucent and sparkly dress in the middle of the road. I then saw a man in blue suit and a photographer. They were taking wedding pix. The photos do not show it, and I didn’t work the scene too hard as to not interfere, but the dress sparkled brightly as the bride moved back and forth.

Magical

As you can see, I had a very productive couple of hours this morning. I conclude the post with two more pix. The first is of a lone hike finishing her hike on the Timp trail. The second shows the Alpine Loop heading down from Sundance Resort.
