I left the house at about 6:20a this morning. I hopped in the car and drove to the trail head of the Bonneville Shoreline trail. I was planning to do about 8 miles and stay on the trail. I was more focused on distance than climbing.

Well it didn’t quite turn out that way. Within the first 15 minutes of the hike I had an option to veer north off the main trail onto a smaller trail. I had passed by it many times and the last time I was with Ann when we passed it. I thought in my head that I was going to just check it out the next time I came.

This morning was that next time.
I had only intended to go up the trail a little bit just to see where it went. Well 4 hours later, I was walking past that off shoot trail as I was heading back at the end of the hike.

The video below shows one of the spots where the 360 view was tremendous. All of the key vistas of the area were in view.
While hiking this Sunday morning, I was quite productive. In addtion to the exercise from hiking 8.5 miles, I was able to listen to 8 chapters of scriptures, listen to the framework of the Sunday School lesson we will do at home today, enjoy a wide range of spiritual music, and of course, enjoy the beauty of creation.
Naturally, since I left my macro lense in the car, I was given lots of opportunity to photograph small things. Between my cell phone and my other lenses, I mananged, but not as well as I would have with the macro. Some of my faves are below.

Some poor bird go destroyed

I hike up to Little Baldy mountain. This mountain, as its name would suggest, is not a big as Big Baldy and is at a lower elevation. Big Baldy is about 8,700 feet and Little Baldy is about 7,600. Once at Little Baldy, I headed back down. I hooked up with a different section of the Great Wester Trail, and made my way back to the BST.
For the first 5 miles of the hike, I only saw 2 people, both mountain bikers.

Absolutely love the visual media. Keep up the great content. Greetings from London.
