I discovered something when I arrived at the Silver Lake trailhead. It turns out that there are TWO Silver Lakes in the area. There is one that you get to from American Fork Canyon, which is the one to which I thought I was going to this morning, but from a different access point. Then there is the other one, which I drove to this morning.
I woke up this morning more excited than normal. I was excited because I knew I was going to explore a new trail that I found last week.
Then all of a sudden, I saw an American flag vigorously waving in the stiff breeze to my left. I started to walk toward it and then realized it was perched on the very edge of a sheer rock cliff.
I had some great hikes this week. Here are some of my favorite snaps from 3 different hikes during the week.
While hiking this morning on the west side of Big Baldy, I looked out into the valley and saw a splash of light from the rising sun. It dawned on me, pun intended, that the light was funneling through the canyon almost like what a flashlight would do.
