Well now that January 2023 is in the rear view mirror, I must say this year has started off with a big PHOTOGRAPHIC BANG!
We do not always get to create the conditions that currently exist, but we ALWAYS have the opportunity to decide how we are going to respond. We choose the path forward.
We are not even to the official first month of winter, and I feel it has been the best since I moved to Utah. Lots of snow and beautiful scenery. I am looking forward to the rest of the season. Wait, did I just say that?
I decided to go out into the elements and have some fun. I made a few nice pix of people taking a Polar Bear dip in the Provo River, found some cross country skiers, some snow shoers and some beautiful scenery.
I was going on an adventure into the back country via off road driving in my Toyota 4Runner. To be even more specific, I was going to Monument Valley in the park to photograph the Temple of the Sun and the Temple of the Moon.
Looking back on my year in photography, my intent was to keep it simple. I just couldn't this year. This is an insane post with tons of my fave pix from this incredible year.
It is so easy to fall into judgment. This story may provide perspective that helps your practice of compassion, kindness and love.

When you fit in, you are changing yourself to match the situation or circumstances. Belonging does not requires us to CHANGE who we are; it requires us to BE who we are!
As soon as I arrived at the trailhead to Lake Mary, I noticed a dark creature in the woods. I had to take a long look because I couldn't believe how close I was to a bull moose. A few other people noticed as well and we all began a photo-moose-a-palooza.
